| About Beechwood Products
Beechwood Products services clients in New Zealand and Australia with a range of edge glued timber panels and furniture components.
Beechwood Products has been established for more than 20 years servicing the furniture and wood processing industry in New Zealand, Australia and the United States of America. Beechwood's parent company Westimber Ltd is a diverse group with forest resources, sawmills, treatment plants and kilns, wholesale and retail timber yards and timber processing facilities.
Ngahere Processing, another subsidiary of Westimber, is on the West Coast of New Zealand's South Island, it has sawmilling, kiln drying and treating facilities that produce up to 100m³ of sawn timber per day. The sawmill cuts mainly Radiata Pine and the kilns and treatment plants are capable of handling the full output of the sawmill.
It is from this source that Beechwood Products draws all its Radiata Pine supplies. The West Coast Radiata Pine is an excellent light coloured, even textured pine timber that is particularly suitable for processing into furniture and related end uses.
Beechwood Products is situated in Broughs Road, Harewood, a northern suburb of Christchurch and is closely adjacent to Christchurch Airport. The company operates from a new, purpose built factory with modern state of the art processing equipment.
The main pressing operation for the production of high quality, edge-glued panels, is carried out by a computer controlled Baioni, hot oil press. In addition the company operates two RF (radio frequency) presses.
Servicing these machines is a timber preparation operation with two modern six-head planers and a purpose built cutting line.
